In the past five years, we have seen a dramatic increase in the popularity of bulletproof snacks. I’m not saying that you should throw it on everything you eat at a restaurant, but you should also take a look at the ingredients and how they are prepared. Many of these snack items are loaded with sodium, which is one of the main reasons why people feel so bloated after a meal.
A lot of people don’t realize that when you buy a box of bulletproof snacks from the store, the sodium content is usually included with the box and it’s not part of the meal itself. Sometimes you have to add it yourself, but most of the time you can just add extra water to the chips.
I find the salt in these snacks to be one of the most annoying things about eating out, as it can lead to a very bloated feeling after finishing a meal. The same is true of most fast food chains. They claim to be “sodium free” but in reality, they may contain high amounts of salt.
The only real benefit I could see to the salt in our snacks is that it cuts down the overall cost of our meal. But I’m not sure it actually does. I’m also not sure how much of a benefit that is.
The whole salt in fast food thing is a bit of a con, although some companies are trying to be more transparent about it. A number of companies like McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, and Subway have added a sodium level in their products. If you’re on a diet, there are some great ideas to try to reduce the salt in your food. For example, replacing the salt with sugar in your bread and oatmeal. Or swapping out the salt for baking soda.
But the biggest con is this, which is that you can eat a lot of things that are processed in factories and not necessarily have the added salt or sodium levels.
A lot of these companies have been selling food with the added salt in its packaging for years now, and some of these products are the most common ones. I like the idea of adding salt to my bread, but I think the whole issue is really more about the amount of salt in the food. If a company is adding salt to its product, they are likely also adding salt to their packaging. That’s not the same thing.
The issue with salt is not so much the amount of salt in food, it is the fact that salt is a natural preservative that stops food from spoiling. Salt is a preservative that keeps food from rotting and that is a good thing. But salt isn’t the same as added salt. The salt used to contain the preservative is added to the food.
Salt adds another layer of the food’s preservative which is inorganic. The preservative that the salt contains is inorganic (unlike the salt that is added to food), and that is why salt can be used to add a preservative to food. A good rule of thumb for salt-free baked goods is to avoid anything that will be in a glass jar, because it is not preservative free.
